Celebrating Lunar New Year

On Wednesday, our International Student Program team hosted lunar new year - year of the dragon, with our international students gifting them along with staff a small token.

Last week, I participated in the Chinese New Year activity with fellow BSC students, organized by the International Office and Culture Diversity Community team, which was very interesting.

Ms. Jessica taught us step by step how to make red envelope lollipops. The bright colors reminded me of the Spring Festival in my hometown, and I felt very close to her.

Today at lunch break, under the leadership of the teachers, we made candy bags to celebrate the Lunar New Year. We used "red envelope" origami to complete the shape of the candy bag. After making the shape, we put the lollipop into the shell to make it look like a flower. This activity lasted for the whole lunch break. We enjoyed it very much and we are very grateful to the two teachers for their efforts.

The students have been enjoying learning new language and cooking skills in our Food Studies kitchen. This week they made Rice Paper Rolls.
