Walton House

News

Dear Parents, Carers, Family and Students,

How are we already nearing the end of Term 1?

We’ve had a spectacular term so far, with sporting events, staff v student competitions, writing programs and much, much more!

Swimming Sports: We had a fantastic day at swimming sports, it was an absolute scorcher but it was such a fun day. It was wonderful to see so many students get involved in the day with racing, water games or land games such as chess. Walton placed THIRD on the day. Well done to everyone’s efforts!

Student Led Conferences: On the 6th of March HPSC ran the first student led conference for the year. We had a really great turn out, and it was a fantastic day. It was great to hear students reflect on their learning, and identify their strengths and areas for improvement. It’s always nice to meet families and continue to build a connection within the community of Hampton Park. If you were unable to meet with your child’s teacher, please feel free to email them and they will provide you with an update.

Walton Student of the Month – Minhaj Hussain

1- Favourite subject in school: Philosophy and Business. Business because I am good at it and it is something that I wish to venture into the future. Philosophy because I love talking to other people about complex ideas and it helps me view things from other points of views making be realize that not everything has an answer and everyone has their own answer.

2- Hobby outside of school: Soccer and Video editing. Both things that I love to practice outside of school in my free-time (after getting school work done)

3- Favourite TV Show: My favourite tv show/book changes every month, but right now ‘Breaking Bad’.

4- Favourite Food: Any Afghan traditional food. Mantu (afghan dumplings) are the best. But more western food pizza is really nice.

5- After school plans: I hope to go University, not quiet sure which course as their is a lot of things that I love and do not know which one I love the most and makes the most money. But yes University.

6- Are you enjoying VCE so far? So far VCE has been challenging, but fun. The fast pace and workload I feel is preparing be for the future and making me more resilient to big workloads and short time frames.

7- Quote to live by: I don't really live by any quotes, but a nice quote that I know is "Winner are just losers who didn't quit"

Uniform, lates and attendance:

A reminder to please ensure all students are following the correct school uniform. Ensure you are either in the academic uniform with black lace up shoes, or the sports uniform with runners, not a mixture of the two.

We need students to be coming to school on time, every time.

Please keep up the great work, this has been a fantastic start to the year, and we’re extremely excited for 2024!

Thank you Gabi Phelan and the Walton Team
