Look inside ... Stage One

It has been a busy and exciting start of the year for our Year 2 students. As a part of our mathematics program, students have been exploring place value and the properties of two-dimensional shapes. Students were challenged to create a triangle out of three trapeziums and to see if they could make triangles out of a larger number of tessellating shapes. Students in 2B worked collaboratively to prove that a triangle of any size could be made using our shape blocks.

In Creative Arts, students have been learning about the Visual Arts elements and exploring colour theory by making artworks using a variety of materials. Students in Year 2 created stunning hot air balloon artworks using their understanding of colour theory.
