 Forensic Scientists VHAP Year 5 Extension Program

Last week we hosted a very engaging STEM extension program at school which introduced the students into the world of Forensic science. 15 students from year 5 were involved in a very hands on workshop and presentation from Deakin University about forensics science. They had to undertake many scientific experiments using salt water solution, analysing ink (Chromatology), using finger prints and other investigative tools to try to solve the mystery of the ‘Paint Prankster’ and find the teacher (fictional) who had pranked the classroom with paint. It was a very engaging and stimulating session of learning.
