Learning this week:  

 

Literacy: 

Spelling: Year 3’s Spelling focus is digraphs as in quench, mushroom and raincoat. With a grammar focus on parts of speech.

Year 4’s Spelling focus is silent letters as in wreck, kneel and limb. With a grammar focus on antonyms.

Writer’s Workshop: We will continue looking at the characteristics and habits of writers and spend some time bookmaking, with a focus on our spelling and grammar for the week. 

 

Reader’s Workshop: We continue to build our reading stamina and develop positive habits as readers. 

 

Mathematics: Our focus continues to be on number and we are inquiring into subtraction and continuing using mental computation strategies. 

 

Unit of Inquiry: This week we will begin our Unit of Inquiry ‘How We Organise Ourselves’, with a focus on ‘Systems’.

Stop Motion Studio – Application will be needed during Art.

 

Camp Volunteers:

We are seeking parent volunteers for camp and ask that any parents or caregivers that would like to volunteer and have met school volunteer requirements to come on the camp, please let class teachers know.
