Learning this week:
Literacy:
Spelling: Year 3’s Spelling focus is digraphs as in quench, mushroom and raincoat. With a grammar focus on parts of speech.
Year 4’s Spelling focus is silent letters as in wreck, kneel and limb. With a grammar focus on antonyms.
This week lists are:
Writer’s Workshop: We will continue looking at the characteristics and habits of writers and spend some time bookmaking, with a focus on our spelling and grammar for the week.
Reader’s Workshop: We continue to build our reading stamina and develop positive habits as readers.
Mathematics: Our focus continues to be on number and we are inquiring into subtraction and continuing using mental computation strategies.
Unit of Inquiry: This week we will begin our Unit of Inquiry ‘How We Organise Ourselves’, with a focus on ‘Systems’.

Could you please download the following application on your child’s iPad.
We aim to use these apps in class in the upcoming weeks.
Toddle – Application to view your child’s learning. This will also be used as their portfolio.
Calculator – If it is not already downloaded on your child’s iPad.
Epic! – Free reading application for students to access during school hours of approximately 9:00am – 4:00pm.
Bible for Kids – Free online Bible and interactive activities.
10 Minutes a Day Times Tables – Free interactive application for students to practice their multiplication.
PicCollage EDU - Application for students to learn visually and creatively.
Popplet – Application for students to learn visually and creatively.
Kahoot – Application for student created quizzes and teacher directed quizzes.
Book Creator – Combine text, images, audio, and video to create interactive stories, journals, reports etc.
Green Screen App – Used for programming and editing using the Green Screen.
*Please ensure Popplet, PicCollage EDU, Book Creator, Green Screen App are the paid versions. *
Sphero Edu – Application needed for using the school sphero bots.
NAP APP 2023 – Required for completion of NAPLAN in Term 1, Year 4s also requested to have this for valuable practice.
Maker’s Empire- school bought subscription (logins to be provided at school), used for coding and 3D printing.
Stop Motion Studio – Application will be needed during Art.
Camp Volunteers:
We are seeking parent volunteers for camp and ask that any parents or caregivers that would like to volunteer and have met school volunteer requirements to come on the camp, please let class teachers know.
