Gospel of Mark 1:40-45 - 6th Sunday of Ordinary Time.
‘The leprosy left him and he was cured.’
Jesus is willing to touch those who have been rejected, abandoned, and forgotten. His compassion reaches to those who you see and those you don’t see.
When Jesus touched this man, his touch said,
“I love you just as you are, and I am here to help you.”
As followers of Jesus, we will need to do the same.
We are asked to enter the world of people, identify with their pain, and touch their lives letting them know,
“I love you just as you are, and I am here to help you.”
God our Father,
Bless our school of St John’s, So that we may love you more.
Watch over and protect us, our families, our friends and our sacred earth.
Lord, guide us on our journey as we try to be the best we can be.
Keep us safe from harm, healthy in life and loving to all those we meet each day.
We make our prayer through Christ Our Lord
Amen
Our Family Mass will be celebrated on Saturday the 16th March at 6pm in St John's Church. A letter will be sent home shortly about ministries that children may like to participate in.
Each year we set up a casserole bank to help out families within our school and wider community when needed. If you are happy to be part of this, we send home aluminium containers and we ask that you fill them with a dish. This can be anything that is able to be frozen. In the past, we have had lasagne, fried rice, bolognaise, zucchini slice and casseroles as an example.
Thank you for the wonderful response to this.
Today we raised over $600 as part of our Lenten fundraising for Caritas Australia. An excellent achievement for our Year 6 leaders. They work efficiently and as a team to prepare everyone's pancakes.
Tomorrow we celebrate Ash Wednesday Mass as a whole school. Mass begins at 12.30pm, everyone is very welcome to attend.
