Dear Families,
Today we were lucky enough to have members from the Melbourne Football Club visit our school. The players cooked and served pancakes, kicked the footy and held a Q & A session in the Mercy Centre. Shepparton News also visited, so look out for us in their paper tomorrow. Mrs Stewart is a diehard Demons fan will be green with envy when she reads this!
District Sports
Well done to all members of the St John's community that attended the District Swimming Sports yesterday, it was a great day and the students represented our school beautifully, always showing the 4Bs. Thank you to Mrs Watson and Lisa Lister and the parents who attended and supported our students. Congratulations to the students who will be attending the Divisional Swimming Sports on Friday 1st March.
School drink- water only
A reminder to parents that water is our school drink. Please save Primas, juice boxes and cordial for home.
Shrove Tuesday
Today we celebrated Shrove Tuesday. The Year 6 students did a wonderful job of cooking and serving the pancakes. Thank you to the families who bought pancakes and zooper doopers, we have kicked started off our Caritas fundraising with gusto.
Ash Wednesday Mass
Tomorrow we will be attending mass in the church at 12:30pm to celebrate Ash Wednesday mass. Please feel welcome to come and join us if you are able.
Assembly this Friday
This Friday we will be hosting our first full school assembly in the Mercy Centre beginning at 2:45pm, where Mr McKernan's Yr 5 /6 class will be presenting the prayer. Staff would appreciate that during the assembly toddlers need to remain with their parents to avoid causing a distraction.
Family Sports night
We will be holding our annuals Family Sports night on Thursday 7th March at 6pm. Jimmy Ivill (from My Future Academy) will host the night with games the whole family can enjoy together on the oval. Please bring a refillable water bottle, a picnic if you would like to have some snacks and your runners. This is a no alcohol event.
Roblox Message
Please take time to read about the video/online game "Roblox" that many students are playing at the moment in the Cybersafety section. The article has information about how parents can manage their children playing this game. Please take time to check in on this page regularly as we will endeavour to post any information we receive.
Kind Regards,
Libby Hamilton
