International Women’s Day
St Bede’s College Parents and Friends Association is delighted to invite you to a special breakfast event to celebrate International Women’s Day, 2024.
Please join us on Tuesday 5 March as we recognise the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women across the world. This year’s theme is ‘Inspire Inclusion’.
Along with a light breakfast, you will be treated to an inspiring personal story of resilience, inclusion, diversity and understanding from our special guest speaker, Sumaya Harare.
Sumaya came to Australia at the age of 7 with her Somali family as a refugee. Settling in Brighton East, a predominantly Caucasian area, Sumaya attended a nearby primary school, having learned basic English from Sesame Street. Through her experiences and overcoming significant hurdles, Sumaya’s story is inspiration to us all.
Date Tuesday 5 March, 2024
Time 6.45am to 8.30am
Location Sports Centre, Mentone Campus
Tickets $15 includes a light breakfast of savoury and sweet bites, plus hot drinks (self serve)

Alumni Events - St Bede’s Old Collegians Association (SBOCA)
The SBOCA eagerly anticipates another prosperous year dedicated to supporting our esteemed alumni. In the spirit of camaraderie, we are excited to announce our plans for 2024, aiming to strengthen connections with current students, facilitate a seamless transition from student to Old Collegian, improve member engagement and enhance our events calendar.
Our focus includes the expansion of opportunities for Old Collegians to make a lasting impact and broadening our outreach through Finian Foundation Grants. In line with our commitment to transparency and inclusivity, we will continue providing updates in the St Bede's College newsletters for these key reasons:
- Many current parents and grandparents share the legacy of being Old Collegians themselves.
- Parents unfamiliar with Old Collegians may find value in understanding the pivotal role SBOCA plays in their son's post-College life.
