From the Principal

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a restful and interesting break. It's fantastic to see both returning and new students settling in so well. We have many new faces around the school, both staff and students, and I'm excited to see the positive energy they bring to our community.  Further in the newsletter, we shine the spotlight onour new staff members who have joined our team.

I would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication that Trish Quilty has given to our school. Trish has retired after nearly 20 years of service to public education. She always had the students at the centre, had high expectations and was willing to help anyone out. Staff and students will miss her wealth of experience, care and compassion.

Sadly, Sasha Wilson, our beautiful 2021 School Captain passed away on 30 December 2023, surrounded by her loving family, Anna, Gareth and Daisy. Sasha was a very positive, strong, selfless young woman who lived life to its fullest, working and socialising at every opportunity. We will miss her ever radiant smile. Fly high beautiful angel x

Congratulations to Mrs Cunial on the birth of Mollie, a baby sister for Miller and Hugh. We welcome her to our Anson family :)

I have thoroughly enjoyed relieving as Principal over the past two weeks while Mrs Meers is relieving at Bletchington Public School. It has been a busy and start to the year, I appreciate everyone who has chipped in to make the return to school as stress free as possible. An extra shout out to Stage 5 staff and students as they have navigated the move to Campus seamlessly.

Congratulations to Our Student Leadership Team I am delighted to congratulate our Student Leadership team on their induction ceremony held on Tuesday. Thank you to Mr Low for organising the ceremony, Miss EJ for making sure students looked schmick in their uniform, Anthony and Megan for setting up the hall, Mrs Riley for taking beautiful photos, Mrs Owens for the lovely flowers, Miss Mel for her fast ironing skills at the last minute, Miss Brooke for ordering the morning tea and Mr Corby for laying it out! More details about the ceremony can be seen in Anson In Review.

Appreciation for Our General Assistant Team a massive thank you to our General Assistant team for their tireless efforts over the holidays to ensure that the school was ready for the return of staff and students. Led by Anthony, the team have yet again achieved an enormous amount of work, some of the additions around the school include new carpet and lino in A block, painting, fencing, sails over the cafe and library decks, air conditioning, new trampolines and furniture. We are grateful for all that you do to maintain our school environment.

I look forward to seeing everyone at Toot Keegan's Champion Day on Friday and the Welcome BBQ next week!
