Chinese Recap

As we approach the Semester's end, it's time to celebrate the fantastic progress made by our students in Chinese classes. This semester, students in 7B, 7EF, 8B, 8D, 8E and 8G have embarked on an exciting learning journey in the world of Chinese language and culture.

One of the highlights is the strides our students have made in conversational Chinese. They've gone from basic introductions to confidently chatting about their families—a significant leap that showcases their growing comfort with the language.

But it's not just about speaking Chinese; learning a language was also about understanding how cultures communicate differently. By comparing their own cultures with the Chinese culture, students gained fresh perspectives, fostering a greater appreciation for diversity and the importance of intercultural understanding.

The end-of-year activities were a hit! Painting Peking Opera masks was not just a fun project—it was a window into understanding the colours’ significance in the Chinese culture. It was hands-on learning that brought the vibrancy of Chinese art and symbolism to life.

As we wrap up, we're excited for what's ahead in the next school year. The enthusiasm and curiosity our students have shown this semester promise more exciting discussions and discoveries in the exploration of Chinese language and culture in the future!
