Farewell to Class of 2023
Early this Term, the College farewelled the “Class of 23” at a formal whole school assembly. This forum provided the college with an opportunity to acknowledge the cohort as well as thank them for their contribution to the College and its many extracurricular programs. This event was followed by a farewell brunch and an end of the era excursion at Luna Park. Here parents, students and staff gathered briefly to celebrate and acknowledge the end of an era. Thanks must be extended to staff involved in the planning and execution of these events.
Performing Arts
The 2023 Soiree and Performing Arts Showcase were outstanding event that showcased our talented students. These events marked the end of the instructional music and performing arts programs for the year. The calibre of performances was exceptional and provided for a very entertaining evening. The energy and sense of occasion as the live event returned to stage was not left unnoticed. Congratulations to Yolande Van Oosten and her amazing instrumental music team.
Valedictory
The College community was able to gather on Friday 24 November to acknowledge the year 12 class of 2023. Congratulations to our class of 2023 on their commitment and dedication during challenging times. They have contributed proactively and productively to the College over six years. We were able to acknowledge each student individually as well as celebrate award winners in the VCE and VCAL program. I would like to thank the senior school leadership team for their support, encouragement, leadership and care of this cohort during their final year of formal education. Well done!
Art Technology Exhibition
Well done to the Arts Technology team led by Mr Rault on the art technology exhibition this year. The quality and standard of work on display was outstanding and included displays from all year levels across many genres. I am always amazed by the talent, creativity, and passion that young people bring to their work and this year was no exception. Congratulations to all students who displayed their work and thank you to all staff for their encouragement and leadership.
Exams in Senior Studies Wing
Over the last few weeks, the Senior Studies wing has been a very busy place. Students in Year 9, 10 and 11 have been completing exams and teachers have been marking them and writing reports.
Our Year 12 VCAA examinations concluded on Friday 24 November and as you can imagine the organisation of these exams is a huge logistical task. Thank you to Ms Lenehan Mustafa, Senior Subschool Leader for overseeing this process along with our Chief Examiner, Ms Hannah Oh. We now await our Year 12 results which are released on Monday 11 December.

Teachers have been completing reports and feedback for their students. Year 7 to Year 11 students and parents/carers will receive an end of semester report via Compass on Wednesday 6 December. The reports are a culmination of the written feedback from their teachers with additional information on work behaviours and, for Year 7 to 10 students, Victorian Curriculum levels.

2024 Student Leadership
During Term 4, our students had the opportunity to apply for 2024 student leadership positions and I have had the honour to be part of some the panel selection interviews. I have been extremely impressed to hear our students wanting to contribute to building a strong and connected school community, and the role they would like to take to shape the future of the school in fostering a strong sense of togetherness.
Next year will be an exciting time for the students, as change can bring fresh perspectives and new opportunities for growth. I look forward to seeing the 2024 student leadership team in action!
Thank you for your continued involvement in our school community.
