Student Voice Council Kick-off!

Welcome from the Student Voice Council Team😊

The Student Voice Council (SVC) is excited to launch its 2026 kick-off with our newly selected school captains. Our goal this year is simple and ambitious: work together as a team to make meaningful improvements to our school academically, aesthetically, and socially. If you have ideas, concerns, or feedback, please see any SVC team member — we’re here to listen and act.

How the SVC Will Work Together in 2026

  • Regular Meetings consisting of workparty committees: Captains and SVC reps will meet regularly to invite and discuss proposals, set priorities, and track progress.
  • Each of our 4 school captains will be overseeing a portfolio. The 4 portfolios are:

    Wellbeing;

    Teaching and Learning ;

    School Beautification

    and House System Reform

  • All members of the SVC (which consists of students from all year levels have attached themselves to one of the 4 portfolios and will thus be involved in a workparty committee headed by the relevant School Captain!
  • Already the SVC Wellbeing Committee, led by school captain: Isla Thomas are organising Pizza Tuesday! This will be a weekly event, every Tuesday at lunchtime, where all members of the school community can purchase a delicisious slice (or two) of pizza! Many pizza options will be available! Food is indeed one of the best mood lifters! One of the best ways to bring people together! One of the best ways to promote connection!
  • Student Input: SVC will hold listening sessions and use suggestion boxes (digital and physical) so every student can share ideas anonymously if desired.
  • Teacher & Admin Partnership: Captains will work with staff to align initiatives with school policies and resources, ensuring feasible and sustainable improvements.
  • Project Teams: For each major initiative (academic supports, campus improvements, social events), the SVC will form small teams that include students, staff advisors, and, when appropriate, community volunteers.

What We’re Starting With

  • Quick Wins: Small, high-impact projects will be prioritised early
  • Longer-Term Projects: Larger efforts will follow a planning process with timelines, budget checks, and student input sessions.

Fun Free Dress Day Events — Coming Soon Get ready: the SVC is organizing a series of themed free dress days and associated activities to build school spirit and raise funds for campus projects. Themes, dates, and fundraising details will be posted in due time. Participation helps our projects and is a great way to support school unity—watch SVC bulletin boards and online announcements for specifics.

How to Share Feedback or Ask Questions

  • Visit the SVC Table: Representatives will host a table during lunch on designated days — stop by to share ideas or ask questions.
  • Share feedback with a member of the SVC team.
  • Suggestion Boxes: Use the physical boxes located in the School front office or the library.

Get Involved Everyone is welcome to join project teams or volunteer at events. Whether you want to help plan an assembly, lead a campus clean-up, or suggest an academic support idea, the SVC provides leadership opportunities and a real path to make change.

See an SVC member or check the school announcements for upcoming meeting times and event dates. Together, we’ll make 2026 a year of positive change — academically stronger, more beautiful spaces, and a more connected student community.
