Wellbeing
by Kylie Lloyd (and Joseph Caruana)
Welcome back to another school year. For all families that are part of the school community I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce the Wellbeing team at our school

Kylie is our Mental Health Practitioner and works Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Kylie is responsible for organising workshops, oversees peer support and provides 1:1 counselling to students. Kylie works closely with Student Services.

Clancy (Therapy Dog in Training)
Clancy is a Mini cavoodle who is about to turn 2 years old. He loves coming to school and catching up with everyone. He is learning what it is like to be a therapy dog.

Mr Caruana, our Assistant Principal oversees the Wellbeing Team at Warrandyte High School.

Bec is our Adolescent School Nurse. You may see Bec around the school on a Wednesday afternoon or in a WELL, Explore or Strive class providing sessions on health related topics.

Breakfast Club is back and running at Warrandyte High School again this year. We offer free breakfast options to students on Wednesday mornings when the school is open. Students have been provided with fresh apples, toast, and cheese toasties.
Our school has also introduced some snack and lunch options for students to grab during breakfast club. These include soups, tuna and rice, fruit cups and popcorn. Breakfast club is located at our Food Tech rooms.
Breakfast club is advertised via Compass. Any changes to this program will be communicated to students, families and the school community, usually through Compass.
From 1 January 2026, people aged under 18 can travel free on all Victorian public transport services using a new youth myki card. This includes trams, trains, buses and coach services.
To access free travel, they must tap the myki card on and off each time they travel. For areas that do not use myki cards, they must show their myki card to travel free.
More information can be found on the myki types webpage on the Transport Victoria website. https://transport.vic.gov.au/tickets-and-myki/myki/myki-types
For more information about other travel options to school, and support for eligible students, refer to the Travelling to school webpage on the Victorian Government website.
Free resources for families of adolescents aged 10 to 14 years.
The Department of Education has launched an Easing into adolescence webpage for families of students aged 10 to 14 (Grade 5 to Year 8).
The webpage has information and strategies you can use to help ease your child into adolescence and secondary school. These include:
how to support your adolescent with their studies and more generally. Parenting expert and clinical psychologist Andrew Fuller helped develop this resource.
Easing into adolescence: resources for families | vic.gov.au
Subtitles for videos by The University of Melbourne on the webpage are available in 10 languages. You can select your preferred language on the translations page.
For questions about these resources, contact the Strategic Partnerships, Transitions and Student Voice team. You can email them at Secondary.School.Transition@education.vic.gov.au.
