Classroom Calm Corners

A calm corner is a designated space in the classroom where students can practise self-regulation and get ready to learn. Calm corners often include activities such as mindfulness colouring, breathing exercises, stress balls, visual emotion charts, and gentle fidget tools. These resources help students identify their emotions and use positive strategies to regain composure.

In connection with Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL), calm corners reinforce classroom expectations by providing a proactive approach to managing emotions. Having students access this space when overwhelmed empowers them to independently regulate their feelings.

By supporting self-regulation, calm corners enable students to return to the classroom setting focused and ready to engage constructively with learning. This enhances classroom calm, supports positive behaviour and academic engagement, and strengthens every student’s ability to be ready to learn.

School Uniform

As we all know it is Term 1 and the temperature can get quite hot, we kindly request parents send their children in light, comfortable, and weather-appropriate uniforms. This will keep our students comfortable and focused throughout the school day.

Wearing too many layers can actually make children feel unwell as they are too hot.

We also request that a jumper be placed in your child's bag, so it can be accessed if they feel cold due to the air conditioning at any time during the day.

Questions to ask your children after school instead of 'How was your day?'

This is a great resource to bring out the rich learning that happens at school from your children at the end of their day.
