Main Campus - Year 4

Welcome to Year 4!

We have had a fantastic start to Year 4 and are thrilled with how smoothly students have settled into their new year level. The classrooms have been buzzing as students revisit our school values and expectations, build positive learning routines, and get to know their teachers and classmates. New friendships are forming, familiar faces are reconnecting, and there’s been plenty of smiles along the way!

Maths has been full of fun as students learn new maths games that build number skills, problem-solving and teamwork. There’s been lots of laughter, friendly competition and plenty of “aha!” moments along the way. Students have also been sharing all about themselves through numbers, using maths as a creative way to represent who they are and what matters to them.

In Literacy, we are growing a joyful community of readers and writers. Students have loved sharing their favourite books and authors, discovering new stories, and planting “writing seeds” in their writer’s notebooks. These seeds are already sparking creativity, imagination and plenty of excitement for the writing adventures ahead!

At the Carlsruhe campus, Miss Dodds and Mrs Elliott have been busy teaching students how to care for our grounds, animals and each other. Students have learned how to handle our animals respectfully, safely and responsibly, while always putting the animals first. They understand that animals should be free to show their natural behaviours and that we only interact with them when they let us know they are happy to do so.

Alongside this, students’ imaginations and creativity have been running wild through the construction of cubbies. Our cubby “neighbourhood” is thriving, complete with rental properties worth three pinecones per week, the official Carlsruhe timezone, and even local shops! It has been wonderful to see such rich play, collaboration and problem-solving taking place. 🌿🛖
