2026 Kambala Music Festival - Tuesday 3 March 2026 - Sydney Opera House - 6.30pm

Please note this is a compulsory Kambala event for Years 5 - 12 Students to attend with their parents.

**Please also note, Wednesday 4 March 2026 will be a late start day for all Students Years 5 - 12. Students may arrive to school at recess time on Wednesday 4 March 2026 between 10.05 - 10.25am.

Lunar New Year, The Year of the Horse - Friday 6 February, 2026

On Friday 7 February at the beginning of Lunch our Prep Year 6 students will gather on Tivoli Lawn for the Lion Dance to celebrate Lunar New Year. We look forward to the experience to build global awareness at cultural understanding.

Year 3 and Year 5 Writers Workshop with Author Pip Harry - Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 February 2026

Pip Harry is an accomplished Australian author, copywriter, and journalist. Her three middle-grade novels have all been widely acclaimed and have been nominated for numerous awards across Australia. She is an engaging speaker who participates in Writers’ festivals across Australia, Asia, and Europe. Pip also runs workshops for teachers across the country.

Pip inspires students to write authentically about themselves, their lives, and their friends.

We are excited that Pip will be working with our Year 3 and Year 5 girls and teachers on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 February 2026 (Week 4).

Copies of Pips' books will be available for the girls to purchase before the event. Please keep watch for a notification on Sundial in Week 3.

Junior School Meet theTeacher Evening - Wednesday 18 February, 2026

Preparation to Year 6 Parents are warmly invited to meet their daughter's class teacher in their respective classrooms for an informative session.

PLEASE NOTE - this evening is for parents only - students do not attend.

Junior School Swimming Carnival - Des Renford Leisure Centre - Friday 20 February, 2026

The Junior School Swimming Carnival will be held on Friday 20 February 2026 for all students in Years 3 to 6.

The PE Department works hard to ensure that each girl participates in a minimum of three swimming events, with student participation being the key focus of the day.

We kindly ask that all parents and carers complete the permission form below by Friday 13 February 2026.

The Carnival will take place at the Des Renford Indoor Aquatic Centre. While the pool is indoors, it has fully open opposite sides to allow for adequate cross-ventilation. Parents and carers are warmly invited to attend.

Event Details

Date: Friday 20 February 2026

Time: 9.30am – 2.00pm

Venue: Des Renford Indoor Pool, Robey Street, Maroubra

Uniform and Equipment

Girls are to wear their Kambala sports uniform, including:

House-coloured polo shirt
Sports shorts
Sneakers
Sports cap

Please ensure girls wear their Kambala swimmers underneath their uniform.

Students should bring the following in their Kambala sports bag:

Towel
Swimming cap and goggles
Morning tea, lunch and snacks
Plenty of drinking water

Please note: There will be no canteen lunches available on this day, as this is an off-site event.This is a lolly-free event, and we appreciate your support.

Transport and Supervision

For duty of care purposes, all students must be dropped off at Kambala Tivoli Carline between 7.40am and 8.00am to travel by bus to the pool.

At the conclusion of the Carnival:

Girls will return to school by bus and be supervised until the end of the normal school day, or
Parents may choose to collect their daughter directly from the Carnival.

Please indicate your preference by completing THIS FORM.

A permission form for parents to complete was sent earler this wweek.

Please ensure you have completed BOTH the permission form and your daughter;s gong home after the carnival arrangements.

It is an expectation that all students attend and participate in the Swimming Carnival.

Please note:

Students may not go home with alternate families.
All arrangements must be confirmed prior to the Carnival.

Extra-curricular activities will run as normal on Friday afternoon, except:

There will be no Year 3 Basketball Training on Friday 20 February 2026.

Carnival Information

Girls must wear their sports uniform to and from the pool, with swimmers underneath.
Kambala swimming costume, goggles and house swimming cap must be worn for all events.
Events will be run in age groups based on the age turned in 2026.
All races will be conducted as timed finals, with results verified across divisions before IPSHA team selection.
Students will be seated with their grade cohorts throughout the day.

Medical Information

School policy requires that all students with medical conditions bring their necessary medication on the day, including:

Anaphylaxis: Two EpiPens must be presented before boarding the bus
Asthma: Ventolin puffer must be carried before boarding the bus
Any other required medication or specific food needs

Students should not attend if they are displaying any symptoms of illness.
