Mathematics

Number 

Students will concentrate on matching collections to numbers and comparing, sequencing and ordering numbers 0 to 9. They will practice counting backwards and forwards and count using 1:1 correspondence. Students will play many counting and number games and solve problems using concrete materials.

Algebra 

Students will be involved in following a short sequence of instructions; recognise, copy, continue and create repeating patterns represented in different ways.

Measurement

Students will sequence days of the week and times of the day, including morning, lunchtime, afternoon and night-time, and connect them to familiar events and actions

Statistics

Students will be involved in collecting, sorting, comparing and interpreting simple data represented by objects and images.

Space

Students will sort, name and create familiar shapes; recognise and describe familiar shapes within objects in the environment.

Students will have access to the Matific Platform which is a collection of interactive math games and activities which works alongside side the Mathematics Curriculum. This will provide further opportunities for students to build a conceptual understanding of various foundational skills.
