Our Grade 6 graduation ceremony on Monday evening was magnificent! Each Grade 6 child spoke with confidence in front of the large audience, by reflecting on their time at Grovedale West PS. Thanks to all parents/carers/visitors for attending to assist make it a special occasion for the children, also to Grovedale College for allowing us to use their auditorium. Following the ceremony, an ‘after party’ was held at school. Thanks to parents/carers for being on time to collect the children at 8:30pm and for then taking time to thank the staff for organising the evening. TO MRS OVENS
On behalf of the Grovedale West PS community, congratulations Gill for the many contributions you made to the school over the years. Gill is a great colleague who will be missed by all of us. She knows everyone and everyone knows her, showing the respect she has in our school community, evidenced by the growing amount of thank you cards and gifts appearing in her office each day! Thanks to our School Council for organising a farewell afternoon tea on Wednesday for Gill and thanks also to the many parents/carers and students for attending.
TO DAVE THE CLEANER
We wish a happy retirement to Dave who has been our school cleaner for 8 years. Yesterday some of the Grade 6 students presented him with a parting gift, and for a joke also gave him a ‘golden plunger’ for he’s had to use one of these on multiple occasions.
CELEBRATION DAYS
All grades had their special day this week to celebrate the year’s achievements. Well done to the students to finish the year off on a positive note. Thanks to our teachers for organising these events, also for caring for the children on the day along with our Education Support staff.
PICNIC
Our end of year celebration was held at the school on Thursday and thanks to everyone for attending. I couldn’t attend as I was at the Anglesea PS Grade 6 Graduation, but heard it was a great evening for our school community to come together. It was a beautiful summer night where there was reminiscing of fun times had this year.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS
May everyone have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy the summer break. Thanks to everyone for supporting the school throughout 2025!
