2026 Ensembles

Welcome to Clayfield College Music 2026! Our Music Team are prepared and looking forward to starting rehearsals in Week 2, commencing Monday 2 February.

Ensemble directors will email students by the end of the week to advise which groups they are in. A complete Ensemble Rehearsal Schedule can be viewed by clicking on the link below.

All students are welcome to join our un-auditioned choirs and are invited to attend our first rehearsal in Week 2. Please see the list of un-auditioned choirs and ages below:

• Years 7 to 12 - Avanti, directed by Ms Crawford. Avanti rehearse on a Wednesday morning at 7:15am in the Chapel. 
• Years 4 to 6 - Campo delle Voci, directed by Mrs Kiehne. Campo delle Voci rehearse on a Tuesday morning at 7:30am in the Chapel.
• Years 1 to 3 – Piccolo Choir, directed by Mrs Both. Piccolo Choir rehearse on a Friday morning at 7:30am in the Chapel.

New students in Years 7 to 9 who are interested in joining the auditioned choir, Ciao Bella, are invited to attend an audition on Friday 30 January at lunchtime in MU2. Ciao Bella rehearsals are on Wednesdays in the Chapel from 3:30 - 4:30pm. 

In 2026 we will continue to offer our boys' choir, Ragazzi, and auditions will be held next Tuesday lunchtime in MU2. Rehearsal times are yet to be confirmed.

Private Music Tuition

We offer private specialist tuition for the following instrument groups:

• Piano (from Grade 3)
• Strings (from Grade 3)
• Band (from Grade 5)
• Vocal (from Grade 6)

Any student wishing to apply for Private Music Tuition can submit the following online Application form, to be completed by a Parent or Caregiver. Tuition fees, terms and conditions are communicated in the form. 

Instrumental lessons will commence from Week 2 or Week 3 and Instrumental Tutors will be issuing their timetables to parents and students in the next week.

In 2026 we will be offering beginner keyboard classes for Year 2 students and musicianship classes for Year 1 and 2 students. These classes are an extension of our Classroom Music program and are designed to provide age-appropriate singing and musicianship skills.

Musical Rehearsals

Last Friday, students worked through their first musical rehearsal of the year and did a wonderful job settling into the process and expectations. It was a positive and productive start to the year.

Please note that students will attend an additional rehearsal this Friday 30 January from 3:15pm to 5:30pm in the Assembly Hall, before regular rehearsals commence.

Irish Dance Classes

Irish Dance classes, taught by Mr Adrian Walker ADCRG, will commence from Week 2 and will be held in the Drama Room each Wednesday from 3:15pm to 4:00pm. Classes are open to students in Years 1 to 7. To register or for further information, please email Mr Walker at awalker@clayfield.qld.edu.au.
