On Monday, we were delighted to welcome our new boarders for 2026 to Clayfield College. Watching the enthusiastic Year 7 students, along with boarders from other year levels, begin their boarding journey brought back many fond memories of our own first days at the school. The atmosphere was full of excitement as returning boarders and staff came together to help our newest members feel comfortable and welcomed.

Later in the afternoon, we held the P&F Boarders’ Welcome event, providing a relaxed and welcoming space for parents, students and staff to connect. The event offered families the opportunity to meet our dedicated boarding and school staff, ask questions, and begin building relationships ahead of the new school year.

It was wonderful to see new friendships forming and a strong sense of community emerging so early on. The event created a positive and reassuring start to the year, helping new boarders and their families feel supported as they settle into life at Clayfield. We extend our sincere thanks to P&F President Ms Rae Robbins and the Advancement Team for organising and hosting this event.

We also extend a huge thank you to Dr Cousins for our back-to-school gift of many new kitchen ware and baking supplies along with a PlayStation 5 which everyone was very excited about.

We are eagerly anticipating our Boarder Orientation closed weekend, beginning on Friday evening, which will provide a valuable opportunity for our new boarders to connect with one another and with staff. The weekend will conclude with a full-day excursion to Wet’n’Wild alongside other boarding schools from South-East Queensland. This outing marks the first of many activities and experiences planned for the term.

Wishing you all a wonderful Term 1!
