Year 10
Whilst completing their subject selection process, some Year 9 and 10 students have indicated they want to complete a TAFE course. The deadline for these applications is Friday of this week – August 30. This is a final reminder for these students to finalise their applications asap.
A huge ‘thank you’ to those families who were able to attend our recent Year 10 2025 Subject Selection Evening. This important event explained the relevance of 2025 subject offerings in relation to WACE attainment (otherwise referred to as graduation).
One important point that was discussed in depth was OLNA attainment. Earlier this term, the College provisioned OLNA Support accounts to students needing to meet required benchmarks. It needs to be said that attaining OLNA will not come with minimal student output. Students who do not attain OLNA will not achieve their WACE. With students sitting OLNA for the first time early in Term Four, Year 9 students are strongly encouraged to utilise these resources.
On Friday of last week, students were emailed the weblink needed to choose their 2025 courses. These are due on Friday 6 September. Students are encouraged to provide this information promptly in order to maximise the likelihood that they will obtain their subject preferences.
Nearly all Year 10 students now have their placements locked in for their looming work experience window. If any students or parents have questions regarding this process, please contact Mrs Davey: kath.davey@cewa.edu.au. We thank Mrs Davey for the amazing support she is affording the Year 10 community in relation to this process.
Try not to become a man of success but rather to become a man of value.
