Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,

Tomorrow we finalise our District sport program for our Year 5/6 students attending the Seaford District Lightning Premiership at Mahogany Rise PS. The good news for the students who generally greatly enjoy this aspect of school is we have a further Lightning Premiership at John Paul College in 4th Term against all the local 'feeder' Catholic schools to the college.

This Saturday our Parents and Friends have designed an evening of fun for our annual Trivia Night. Please attend if you can to help raise funds to continue the improvement of our school's facilities and take the opportunity to have some fun with other members of our school community. Thank you so much to the team responsible for sourcing auction gifts, prizes, developing the questions, setting up the hall and the myriad of other 'jobs' that make such an event a success. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

A reminder that Fr Martin has taken his annual holiday to return to India to spend time with his family. We trust Jesus keeps him safe and this period of rest and renewal assists him on his return to keep our Parish as vibrant as it is.

Next Monday many of our Year 5/6 students will represent the school at a local "Hoop Time" basketball competition. Thank you Mrs Ary and the staff and parents supporting this to allow the students this opportunity.

Next Thursday is our big celebration of our learning this term through the African Drumming sessions. We will commence with the school open from 5.45pm so families who wish to can have a walk through the foyer outside the Library and have a look at some of the artworks from the students. All students are required by 6.15pm at the latest and need to go to the junior block to wait for their performance. The hall will open from 6.15pm when a call will be made for parents to be seated for the performance. If you are bringing older siblings please remind them to enjoy the show and show their best manners.

Next Friday we will learn a bit more about the RUOK approach to wellbeing as a school with a variety of activities.

Week 10 is our final week of Term commencing on Monday 16 September. We will have our traditional Footy Day on Thursday 19 September with term for the students concluding that afternoon. Staff will be at school on the Friday working on our Maths Curriculum knowledge and the day will be student-free. Thanks for making arrangements for this.

Kind regards and God Bless

Rod Shaw
