BOOK WEEK CELEBRATION
Book Week was a great success. We had a whole week celebrating Australian books and authors.
Library leaders had the opportunity to set up Looms and work in classrooms with students to complete Book Week activities. Everyone enjoyed the amazing library display of short-list books.
Thank you to our wonderful leaders of 2024 and their passion and hard work in planning and running of the events in our school.

A message from author Amani Uduman “I'm happy to hear that the students and staff enjoyed the workshop. It was wonderful to see so many children volunteering their ideas in front of such a large audience. And Flynn did a fantastic job of ensuring that the technological component of the workshop ran smoothly. Thank you for having me at your school. It was fabulous to see the students engaged and thoroughly enjoying the workshop”.
Thank you once again for including me in your Book Week celebration.
Warm regards,
Amani

“Thank you again for the warm reception from teachers and students at today’s Author Talk!
Being a library leader has pushed me to be a better leader in this school. It is fun and enjoyable. I have accomplished many tasks and had fun in each and every one of them. Dress up day, reading in the looms and activities in the classroom are the best. Book Week was something everyone enjoyed. I hope to see that happen again next year and some more upcoming plans and activities.

Book Week was awesome, amazing and we all had so much fun!. We got to ‘show off’ our outfits in the book parade. There was a lot of excitement before and during book week and especially on dress up day on Friday 23 August. Book week was fantastic and we all loved it.

Book Week gas been an amazing week with lots of magical moments to remember, from the activities we ran in the classrooms to the book parade. For me, I liked dressing up the most. I hope next year we can do more fun stuff like this. On behalf of the 2024 library leader team, we encourage other students to come and join us next year in planning for another year of fun in the library. We need new leaders for 2025 and we hope you will have the same passion we have.

Ohhh!! What fun it is to be a library leader. Being a library leader is a good opportunity to share your ideas and plans for making the library an awesome place. Book week and all the activities we did was such a success as the library leaders helped plan and run activities for the whole school. We are respected and we get to vote on decisions taken by the group. It is a great opportunity and it could be your role next year. So we hope to see many more senior school students who want to make the library an exciting place.

Hello I am Flynn, a 2024 library leader. What I liked about book week was that I got to host the parade and help out with the activities when the author Amani Uduman came to our school on Wednesday 21 August. A big thank you to the other library leaders and all the teachers that helped out with the whole week. I hope that everyone next year will enjoy the new book week theme. Good luck to the Library Leaders for next year. Hope everyone has enjoyed what we have done so far this year.

Book week was a great success!. Every grade got to watch a movie and engage in book week activities. Everyone had the option to dress up as their favourite book character or the book week theme ‘Reading is Magic’. Being a library leader is amazing as you get to do many fun activities.

What I enjoyed the most about Book Week 2024 was the book parade. I enjoyed seeing everyone dress up and show off their creativity.

I like being a library leader because I get to help other classes learn about what Book Week is all about. Planning for book week and working in the classrooms doing activities with the other students.

Book Week was very successful especially the parade. I really enjoyed seeing all the costumes. The activities were really good and I really enjoyed teaching the Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students how to make a coaster. It was so much fun. This was the first year that the Library Leaders worked with different classes.
