Dear Year 6 Parents
As your son/daughter prepares for the exciting transition to Secondary School, we warmly invite you to join us for a Year 7 Information Evening on Wednesday, 28 August. This event is designed especially for Emmaus Year 6 parents, to discover what lies ahead for their son/daughter in Year 7 and beyond.
Date: Wednesday, 28 August
Time: 5:30pm to 7:00pm
Location: Emmaus Christian College, South Plympton Campus, 7 Lynton Avenue
During the evening, Deb Ellis, Director of Year 7-8, and I will share a comprehensive insight into Year 7, including curriculum, extracurricular opportunities, camps, career pathways, and the support systems we have in place to ensure a smooth transition. All Year 6 students will enjoy a full-day Orientation Program on Friday, 8 November.
Our goal is to continue to create a strong sense of belonging through pastoral care and ensuring every student feels valued and supported within the Emmaus community. Our holistic approach nurtures students to develop academic, spiritual, and emotional growth, guiding students smoothly through adolescence to adulthood and empowering them to explore their God-given gifts.
This is a wonderful opportunity to equip yourself to support your son/daughter as they take the next step into their secondary education.
Kind regards
Andrea Grear
Principal - Secondary, South Plympton
We are honoured to invite you and your children to celebrate Father’s Day together with our community at the annual Father's Day Breakfasts:
Brooklyn Park Campus (ELC to Year 6)
Thursday 29 August, 7.30am - 8:30am
This term, in HASS (History and Social Studies) the Foundation students at Brooklyn Park have been learning about celebrations, focusing on the features of a celebration. This includes the purpose of a celebration and the presence of special decorations, foods, and activities.
We have not only shared our personal experiences about celebrations, but have participated in two Brooklyn Park campus celebrations - 100 days of school and Friendship Day.
While there is still half a term left to investigate the concept of celebrations further, what we have learnt so far is that celebrations do not always involve decorations, special food or clothing. However, it does involve a group of people recognising that a celebration is a special day and commemorated through special activities.
We have also become more aware that our gracious and provident God has given us many opportunities to share and rejoice in His creation.
