Dear Parents and Guardians,
This term seems to be flying by with some remarkable student achievements. The Year 9 into Year 10 Information Evening and course counselling was a significant success. We conducted approximately 60 student interviews on Friday, 16th August. Special thanks to Alana Collier for her leadership in organising the interviews and ensuring all documentation was in place.
Book Week was a highlight, with both students and staff dressing up, making it a day filled with fun and creativity. In addition, Science Week, led by Amy Wilson, was highly successful, with a variety of activities that provided students with enriching and memorable experiences.
Furthermore, TAFE short courses, including the White Card, RSA, and First Aid, were conducted, offering students valuable opportunities to gain new skills and qualifications.
An important event coming up is the Parent-Teacher Interviews in Week 9. These interviews are crucial for fostering strong communication between parents and teachers, allowing for a better understanding of student progress and ensuring that students are receiving the support they need to succeed.
Looking ahead, we have Interschool Junior Basketball and Interschool Cricket competitions scheduled for Week 10, and we are excited to see our students participate and excel in these events.
The Student Representative Council (SRC) and the Wellbeing Team collaborated to run a successful 'Bullying No Way' Day, selling orange pins to promote the event and raising awareness about anti-bullying.
We also recently completed our school review, and I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Phil Gourlay, our School Council President, for his involvement throughout the process. We captured a broad range of voices, including over 20 parents, all staff members, and numerous student focus groups and class observations. This comprehensive approach allowed us to gather diverse perspectives, which will be instrumental in setting the direction for the next four years as we develop our new strategic plan.
We hope everyone enjoys the warmer weather over the weekend and also wish all the best to any of our students and their families involved in sports finals coming up.
