NAIDOC Celebrations
Yesterday our school celebrated NAIDOC week with a special guest performance from Lucas Proudfoot. This interactive comedy-musical kept the students entertained.
We celebrated with an assembly featuring our K-2 students singing "Shorty Krik" and Ms Rabaud and Cailin treating us to a special song. Peta, Joe and Charlotte spoke about their indigenous family values and how they celebrate NAIDOC as a family. Congratulations to the students who received awards for school values and commitment to learning. Thank you to MOYCH Aboriginal Corporation for the sponsorship of these awards. A barbeque lunch was provided for students with a NAIDOC themed cake.
The afternoon was spent creating posters for our NAIDOC week poster competition and all students decorated an echidna quill with their name to be included in a mural designed by Mrs Taylor and painted by the Art Competitions Elective Art class.
