Fitzroy Library Visit- Grades 1 & 2

As part of our Inquiry topic this term, students in 1/2A, 1/2E, 1/2J & 1/2 M walked to Fitzroy Library last week to learn more about it's history and the history of Fitzroy. We are so fortunate to have this amazing library only a short stroll from our school.

Fitzroy Library is one of Australia`s oldest libraries and  was officially opened to the public on 17 July 1877 by the then Mayor, Cr. Sam Lyons J.P. In 1888, work began on the southern wing and reopened in 1890.
