Assistant Principals' Report

Absence Process

Attendance at school is important; however, we understand that, at times, your child will need to have time away from school. We kindly request if your child is unwell that you explain the absence on Compass and provide any relevant documentation, such as a medical certificate, to the appropriate administration office.

Uniform

A reminder that we now have our new uniform chronicle that will now notify parents when students are issued a uniform infringement. We have done this to improve communication with our families and are requesting your support. We are seeing many students in non-compliant or non-HGC uniform items. Students should not be wearing hoodies or black long sleeve tops underneath. Teachers and leaders will be contacting home further if there are ongoing issues.

Teaching Staff Updates

Please be aware that due to timetable changes or staffing changes, there may be amendments to student Compass timetables. Any staffing updates have been communicated in letters home via Compass email.

Year 12 Formal

We are very excited for our 2024 Year 12 Formal happening next Friday May 31st. I wish to remind all students that it is a regular school day, and they are required to attend all classes unless there is an approved absence reason. Should you have any questions regarding the event, please contact Jacinta Kemp (Head of Year) or Thida in the Secondary Years Administration.

Year 10 Formal

It is with great excitement that we invite all Year 10 students to attend this special evening on Friday 16 August from 7:00pm at The Manor on High in Epping. The night will include a three-course dinner, a DJ and photo booth. It provides the opportunity for our students to reflect on the year so far and the connections and relationships they have developed with staff and peers. We look forward to celebrating this evening with you and hope this will be a night to remember!

Blue Edge Program - Year 8 and 9 Students

The Blue EDGE program is a program for Year 8 and 9 students facilitated through the Victorian Police and the Blue Light Foundation. It runs for 16 sessions and uses exercise, workshops, peer support and community role models to improve student wellbeing. The sessions involve exercise, a shared meal and a workshop. Workshops focus on young people's wellbeing, building confidence and self-worth, tools to regulate emotions, connections and teamwork.

We are seeking expressions of interest to be a part of this program for Term 3 2024. Please collect an Expression of Interest form from the Year 8 or Year 9 area office. Due date for Expressions of Interest is 3pm Friday 7th June.
