Mildura visit and Field Days

Our visit to Mildura was a positive experience. Not only was the Mildura Field Days a well organised event, but there was plenty of interest and information shared which showcased our College. Having not been to Mildura for many years, I was taken by the natural beauty of the Murray River, the welcoming and friendly people of the area, and the conversations had.  I’ll be looking forward to another visit in 2025 and continuing our footprint in rural and regional Victoria.

Thank you to the Rowe’s who were kind enough to provide some time to catch up for a dinner and chat. It is always great to sit down and update families on all things boarding, but to also get meet our community in their area.

PERMA in Boarding

This week we continue our focus upon the tenets of Positive Education and living a fulfilled life. A life that encompasses:

  • Positive Emotions (P)
  • Engagement (E)
  • Relationships (R )
  • Meaning (M)
  • Accomplishments (A)

Our excursion to Bounce was a chance to simply have fun. Enjoying the positives in life and the enjoyment of laughter and joy, as simple as it is, is an important tenet of positive psychology also known as PERMA. Our boarders had a great time not only jumping about, but also climbing and then going shopping at Waurn Ponds. A great day out and equally great to see so many happy faces having fun. Next Sunday, we are off Ten Pin Bowling in Warrnambool. Looking forward to seeing some healthy competition on the lanes.

ABSA – National Boarding Week

The ABSA National Boarding Week concluded with our Boarding Assembly. Our week was full of competition, hosting, and fun. A highlight was our double dinner; a traditional Chinese hot pot hosted by Mr Gong, and a Welcome Dinner for our day-school staff. Both events were a showcase of hospitality and gratitude.

Our Boarding Assembly was led by our Boarding Captains, Bella and Charlie who organised a number of senior boarders to present their thoughts on What makes boarding tick. In addition, we were able to listen to the talent of Isla Reilly singing and Ariana Taylor on the piano, displaying the talent we have in our Boarding House.
