Religious Education
Congratulations to Fr Michael on his 50th Golden Jubilee Anniversary of his ordination to Priesthood. Last Friday St Mary’s Church was packed with students and staff from Sacred Heart, St Mary’s, St Brendan’s and Trinity Leaders to celebrate our much loved and adored priest, Fr Michael. Our extremely busy and energetic priest took time out for a radio interview and featured in the Colac Herald (and again this week). Fr Michael has touched the lives of many people far and wide over the five decades of his priesthood. We have been blessed and we are so grateful for the dedicated and fun loving spirit that Father Michael has so benevolently shared with us.
This week we will begin our annual appeal for donations for St Vinnies by asking our families to help support those in need. Leading up to Friday 7th June, our Year 6 students will be visiting classrooms across the school and speaking with the students and teachers about how we can help others and the important role St Vinnies has in our community.
Donation requests for each Year level are as follows:
Foundation: Baby clothes, socks, dressing gowns, pyjamas for any age male/female.
Year One: Toiletries: hair brushes, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, bandaids, tissues, can openers and also tin soup.
Year Two: Pillow cases, pillows, heat packs, tins of spaghetti or baked beans.
Year Three: Scarfs, gloves, beanies, slippers, packet of biscuits.
Year Four: Cutlery -such as spoons, plastic bowls, breakfast cereals.
Year Five: Soft toys (if used in good condition), colouring books, textas, pencil cases.
Year Six: Doonas, travel mugs and/or a $5 donation.
Please remember that, if donating an item of your grade is not possible, any items/or money from the above list would be greatly appreciated. The items you bring can be dropped off at the Front office or into your child’s classroom anytime.
Donations will be delivered to St Vinnies Colac On Friday 7th June following the FEAST of the SACRED HEART Mass, held in the Multipurpose Room at 10:00am here at Sacred Heart.
