Deadly as Day

The Department of Education Central Highlands Area, led by the LAECG, the Koorie Education Workforce and in partnership with Federation University,

invites all Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander

students in Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 to the 

2025 Deadly As Day (aka Deadly Aspirations Day) on

Wednesday 21st May, 2025.

 

This event is an opportunity to bring first nations students together from across the Central Highlands Area, to celebrate Culture that strengthens and empowers all Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students. 

 

This day is about a strong voice, being self-determined, promoting the rights, needs and aspirations of our future generations. 

 

This event will include opportunities for students to get to know each other and community members, explore possibilities and make connections with future pathways for their study and employment. There will be a traineeship expo so students can gain insight through local community organisations, TAFE and Universities attending.  The day begins with a Smoking Ceremony and includes student recognition and aspirational speakers. 

 

Lunch and snacks will be provided.

 

When: Wednesday 21st May, 2025 - 9.15am- 2.45pm

 

Where: Federation University, Founders Theatre Building M (Caro Convention Centre)
