Principal's News

We welcome everyone back to Sacred Heart for the second term. This term, we are excited to welcome a new student Eli Jones, who has joined us from Cairns and will be part of our Grade 5 team with Mr Tebble. We also welcome Emily Ladhams, who will be completing her Teacher Placement with us over the next two weeks. We hope both Eli and Emily quickly feel very much at home in our school community.
I trust families were able to enjoy a restful Easter break. From all reports, there was plenty of time spent outdoors, camping trips, and lots of fun had.
The first day of a new term always brings a lovely buzz to the school. Students are excited to reconnect with friends, teachers return refreshed and ready, and parents are usually very happy to see the term begin!
Our Foundation students are now attending full-time, and they have taken it all in their stride. We look forward to seeing them, as well as all our students, continue to grow and thrive this term.
ANZAC Day
I would like to thank our Grade 6 leaders and their parents for proudly representing Sacred Heart at the ANZAC Day march last week. Your respectful participation and leadership on such an important occasion reflected the spirit and values of our school community. It was wonderful to see you stand with pride and honour as we paid tribute to the courage and sacrifice of our servicemen and women. Thank you also to Anna Melville for organising the wreath and letting the kids know where they need to stand.
ECSI Survey
Thank you to all the parents who took the time to complete the ECSI survey. Your support and participation are truly appreciated! Your feedback is invaluable in helping us continue to grow as a faith-filled community. Congratulations to our lucky prize winners who received a $50 fuel voucher.
Birthday cakes
To ensure the safety and well-being of all our students, we kindly ask that birthday cakes and other celebratory foods not be brought to school. With a number of children managing serious dietary requirements, including allergies and intolerances, this precaution helps us to create a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. We understand birthdays are special milestones, and teachers will continue to acknowledge and celebrate each child’s special day in other meaningful ways. Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us keep all students safe and included during school celebrations.
Kind regards,
Karl Dwyer
