Orange and Bathurst

In a huge start to the ISA competition, Rugby was away to Orange and Bathurst on Saturday, where we were blessed with some fantastic weather and some even better results. I would like to send out a huge thank you to the Head of Athletic Development, Mr Jack McCann who was on the bus to Bathurst with the boys. I would also like to thank all the players and families for making the trip out for what was a great day for all involved. Congratulations to the First XV who had kicked off their season with a huge win over Kinross Wolaroi School.

Football

It was unfortunate that many of our Football fixtures were either cancelled or postponed due to many grounds being closed. Thank you to the players and families of the First XI who had a last-minute change to play in Sydney rather than on the Central Coast. Despite the change, the SPC boys put on a very good performance to start the season with a victory over Central Coast Grammar.

I would like to remind/inform the Football families that we have very limited control over the time and location of away fixtures. All home fixtures are planned so that all A-team kick offs avoid clashes with NPL fixtures, where possible we do the same for B and C teams. For away fixtures we always request that times are planned to avoid such clashes, but that is all we can do, and they have the final say as the hosting school. In the event that there are clashes, families are reminded that the school rules state that school fixtures are to take precedence over club commitments.

Tennis

There were many positive results in Tennis, congratulations to the First IV who started their season with a win against St Augustine’s First IV. This means that all SPC First Teams started 2025 with a win!

Cross Country

Our first Cross Country meet was a success. The sun shone as a strong team met at Upjohn Park. Our juniors were represented well. Special mention goes to Lucas Smith who attended his first carnival, racing well. Benjamin Proszenko gathered the team to do warm-ups, encouraging them to do their best. We go back to Upjohn in two weeks and will be interesting to see how we compare.

Next week’s meet will be at The King’s School.

Reminders

  • Students are to arrive at fixtures a minimum of 30 minutes before they are scheduled to start
  • All students including spectators are either to be in the full Winter uniform or the full Supporters' uniform
