Year 8

'Have a Positive Impact'

It’s hard to believe we’re already four weeks into Term 2. It has gone so quickly but we’ve seen some big changes already. First and foremost, the Year 8 Office! You will now find the Year 8 Team in F00, located at the end of F-Block. Make sure to drop by and look at the new space and say hi to all of us! Not only the new space, but we’ve also stocked up our Green 'Chronnies' rewards! Come and trade in your Chronicles for these rewards.

Pastoral Care

In Week 2, year 8 students came together during their pastoral care session to celebrate some of the great things happening across the year level. Students were recognised for their strong attendance with the EPIC Award, and also for their positive behaviour through Green Chronicle Awards.

The session kicked off with students taking a moment to acknowledge the positive impact their peers have had on them which set a supportive and uplifting tone. From there, the energy ramped up with a fun and competitive, class vs. class, tug of war. There was fantastic participation, plenty of laughter and a huge amount of cheering from the sidelines. Even the teachers joined in to support their classes!

After some tough battles and lots of team spirit, it was 8E who came out on top as the tug of war champions. It was a great morning filled with smiles, encouragement and a real sense of community across the year level.

LifeChanger

Term 2 also brings year 8 students the beginning of the LifeChanger program. All year 8 students will participate in this program across Terms 2 & 3, completing the six workshops in their classes. LifeChanger focuses on allowing students to better understand themselves, empowering them to create a positive change, and creating a world where every young person is elevated to their fullest potential. We are really looking forward to these sessions and know it will bring some exceptional outcomes.
