Year 7

Welcome back, Year 7s!

We hope you had a relaxing and refreshing Easter break.

Term 2 is a big one — full of exciting activities, starting strong with the cross-country event. Ms Swain even joined the action, racing alongside students all the way to the finish line. We want to congratulate Levi Yon and Kara Leask for coming first for the male and female categories. Well done to every other person who sprinted, ran, jogged or walked their way through the course.

Students were lucky enough to have a sneak peek of the production in their first pastoral care session of the term. Thank you Sachi and Arjun for giving a beautiful Acknowledgement of Country and for introducing the performance. Students then participated in a session focused on calling out racism and choosing kindness. We discussed all the positive aspects of living in a multi-cultural society – diverse food, more empathetic people, cultural events – and how we can encourage and foster understanding and kindness.

Our year 7 leaders as well as some aspiring leaders helped out at our prospective parents evening. Thank you to Sachi Beniwal, Arjun Beniwal, Ruby Smith, Zoe Jansen, Aston McCallum, Stella Tritt and Tyler Stott for assisting in presenting, talking to parents and assisting them around the school. You made us extremely proud.
