Children have been enjoying box construction this week, made by recycled containers. Children plan and make decisions about what to build, which materials are needed, and how the creation should look when finished. They Learn how to solve problems, which works best? Glue, tape or staples and how we join things together. Nicole spent a long time making her glasses out of recycled materials.
Children enjoy using their imagination and exploring with their hands pinching, rolling and cutting. Playing with playdough can also be soothing, quiet play option, different textures when finger feeding is a great sensory activity for children.
When children are creating their bath salts they are also engaging in some wonderful sensory and fine motor play. We worked in groups of 8 and took turns measuring, pouring and mixing. Children choose which colour salts they would like and also add fragrance and pot puri.
