Wellbeing Hub

Hello,

We are the St. Joseph’s Wellbeing Team. You will find us in the Wellbeing Hub (located at the school entrance on the left-hand side as you pass through the front glass doors).

We’d like to introduce ourselves to new and returning families in 2024. Our team is diverse and can offer different support to students and families in many ways.

Kye Roberts and Tam Perry

Wellbeing Officers

Welcome. We are Kye and Tam, the Wellbeing Officers at St. Joseph's school.

As part of the Wellbeing Team, we aim to provide a calm, relaxation space where students can drop in if feeling stressed or anxious, and assist families needing support within their parenting demands. We liaise with outside organisations, and refer families and students as required.

Our mornings are a special time with many students using our Regulation Stations and/or enjoying our Breakfast program. We love this time of day as it is a really beautiful way of ‘checking in’ with students before they start their day of learning.

We  provide support through our Care Crew - which is a caring group of parents, who provide meals or care for families who may be experiencing hardship, loss or welcoming a new baby into their family.

We also monitor attendance so you may receive a call from us if your child is absent.

We pride ourselves on providing  therapeutic programs including Peaceful Kids which is a Mindfulness and Positive Psychology based program to lessen anxiety and stress and increase resilience in children.  We also offer McKillop Seasons which enables students to build knowledge and capacity and provides a safe space for children to learn skills and attitudes to understand and respond to experiences of change, loss and grief.

We offer 1:1 sessions with children to help cultivate comfortability in expressing their emotions or concerns with a safe adult. During these sessions we also work on social and emotional regulation techniques in expanding your child's toolkit, and building them up to be the best version of themselves.

  • Support the whole school to better identify and support students with mental health needs
  • Establish clear referral pathways for students requiring assessment and intervention, and monitor and evaluate student progress

Please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher or the Wellbeing Team if you have concerns for your child or family’s wellbeing.
