Year 6
Year 6 Camp
Year 6 students went to camp at Forest Lodge Farm at Jack River in Gippsland for four days and three nights from Tuesday 5 to Friday 8 March. After a three-hour bus trip, they jumped off the bus and went into their first activities. Students had a mixture of calm activities (such as bush cooking, hut building, archery) and adventure activities, such as the Giant Swing, Low Ropes Course, Flying Fox and the rather messy Mud-Run (a team-based initiative involving lots of mud, mess and laughter). A highlight was a trip to Wilsons Promontory for a scenic hike and a well-deserved barbeque lunch. They had night walks, a disco and a movie night after their busy days. We were so grateful for the beautiful weather, and a great group of Year 6 students and EHPS staff and parent volunteers along for the adventure and fun. Thank you to everyone who was a part of our camp this year.
Richard (6B) - my recollection of camp:
"Day 1: We went to Coal Creek for 15 minutes and had a quick break. When we arrived at camp we ate lunch and then did TWO activities. We had a lot of fun, and then free time. Then we had lasagna which was lasagna. We went for a night walk through the bush. Then we went to our cabins. Day 2: Spaghetti on toast for breakfast! We did most of our other activities, had our lunch and nachos for dinner. Today we also had a nice afternoon play. We had a disco and then went to bed. Day 3: We went to Squeaky Beach! Then we hiked ALL the way to Tidal River. Day 4: We did a special activitiy before we left and had lunch. Then we got on the bus and came back to school."
Caitlin’s (6D) - Camp reflection:
“I think the Forest Lodge Camp was a fun experience for everyone and lots of us enjoyed the thrill of the fun activities. We were all very responsible and displayed a LOT of leadership and team work. I think if there was a chance to go again, everyone WOULD go again. My favourite activity was the giant swing and I think a lot of people would agree.”
Ivy (6B):
“Camp was so fun! It made me build up my confidence. I also faced my fear of heights on the third day. The whole year 6 cohort went to Squeaky Beach and Tidal River. We all had the BEST time EVER!”
School Tours for Year 7 2025
In preparation for starting in Year 7 next year, parents/guardians of Year 6 students who will be attending a Victorian government secondary school are encouraged to visit and tour schools of interest in Term 1. The application process for Year 7 placement commences early in Term 2 and parents/guardians must be prepared to nominate their preference/s for their child's placement next year.
A copy of the Catholic Schools Guide (Melbourne Secondary Schools Edition) is available from Office reception or from Renée Dare (6D teacher) if you are considering this option.
