YEAR 4

Year 4 Spotlight, Term 1

The Year 4 students are starting to settle into our daily routine. They can hardly believe that the first term is more than halfway complete. Reading 'Fantastic Mr Fox' for our Novel Study has been a productive way to jump into Term 1 Literacy. We have been talking about the different perspectives of the farmers and the foxes - such wonderful discussions.

Science and Technology:

During term 1, Year 4 have been learning about the topic ‘Paddock to Plate’. In this unit we have been creating flow charts demonstrating the journey undertaken by food and fibre such as dairy products and cotton.

The students enjoyed making their own butter which they were then able to eat on fairy bread! We have included some pictures of this activity.

Creative Art:

During our Creative Arts lessons, Year 4 have used perspective to create an artwork depicting native flowering gum trees. The results were most impressive and the students found the activity to be relaxing and enjoyable.

Year 4 are looking forward to seeing the students grow throughout the remainder of the year. Let’s see what fun is next…
