"Many Wolves .... One Pack"

Term 1 - Week 8

Welcome to Week 8,

NAPLAN

Over the last two weeks our students from Year 3 and Year 5 sat the NAPLAN tests. NAPLAN is a series of national tests which assess children's ability in Writing, Reading, Language Conventions (Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation) and Numeracy. This year the NAPLAN tests have been conducted earlier than ever. We will use the data we receive from these assessments to help inform our teaching and learning for the rest of the year. The learning spaces during these tests were calm, relaxed spaces full of engaged children. We are incredibly proud of our Year 3 and Year 5 students for the positive attitude that they have displayed and hope that they feel proud of themselves also.

GREEN DAY AND ART COMPETITION

Tomorrow we will be holding our annual Green Day event in conjunction with the St Nicholas Art Competition. The Year 6 students have worked hard to create fun and exciting games for all our students to participate in and we look forward to seeing their leadership skills in action tomorrow. Thank you to the Year 6 teachers for their organisation and coordination.

Whilst Green Day activities will be happening on the oval, we will also be having grades visit the Art Competition in the Auditorium to vote for their favourite artwork. Parents are more than welcome to stop by the Art Competition while they are here for Green Day. Please see the timetable in the 'General News' tab of the newsletter for more information.

Thank you to Mrs Amy Henry and her helpers for the coordination of this great event, as well as to all the children who have created their masterpieces.

COLOUR RUN

Tomorrow afternoon we invite all our families to join us for the PT&F Colour Run! It will commence at 5pm on the school oval with the PT&F providing a free sausage sizzle BBQ. Drinks and ice creams will be available for purchase. Thank you to those parents who have volunteered to either help with the BBQ or on the course. Thank you to our PT&F for their coordination and hard work, without which we would not have fundraising initiatives such as this.

If you would like to help support the running of this event by volunteering some time throughout the event please refer to the link below
