End of Term

As we approach the end of term, I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge all that has been achieved this term. From academic success to extracurricular activities, our students have demonstrated both their commitment to their own individual learning journeys and their commitment to our College.

Most notably I thank the staff for providing such enriching opportunities throughout the term, the students for their willingness to embrace such opportunities and to our parents for your endless support.

Uniform

The wearing of the College uniform reflects our College to the wider community and the expectation therefore, is that all students maintain a high standard of neatness while wearing our uniform. When we return in Term 2, the winter uniform will be worn. The College blazer is always compulsory when the winter uniform is worn. As there will be a number of girls who have had a growth spurt over the last few months it is recommended that the length of the uniform is checked before returning to school.

PE / Sports Uniform

A reminder that students are to wear their sports uniform by maintaining a high level of neatness and cleanliness. Girls are not to wear their College cardigans or jumpers with the sports uniform.

Digital Footprint

As parents and teachers, we cannot afford to underestimate the impact of technology on our children. Whilst we embrace technology and use technology as an important tool for learning, we also believe that our students need to be responsible and safe digital citizens.

A digital footprint is the collection of all traces that one leaves in an electronic environment. Some content we actively volunteer such as through our interactions on social media platforms, blogs and forums and other material is passive - we often give information without even realising that our data is being collected.

Digital footprints however, are significant because they have lasting implications and may seriously harm future job prospects. For this reason, it is very important that girls do not post anything online that they may find embarrassing later. It may be a timely reminder to remind your daughter about being careful when sharing information online. Similarly, to minimise the risk of being in an unsafe situation, I ask you to please remind your daughter to only accept friend requests from people she knows in real life. Likewise, it is also important to be careful with the pictures that are posted on public profiles. Again, it may be a timely reminder to check your daughter's privacy settings on social networking sites and to remind your daughter to ensure that she has unique passwords.

Dates - Term 2

  • Monday 29 April - Staff Professional Learning Day (Pupil Free Day)
