Message

"Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed no hope at all."

— Dale Carnegie

Dear Brigidine Community,

I trust this message finds you all in good spirits. As we reflect on the past term, it brings me great joy to share the remarkable achievements and milestones we've experienced together. The term has been a whirlwind of activity, filled with countless moments of success and growth here at Brigidine College.

First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt pride in our students and staff. Their unwavering dedication and hard work, both inside and outside the classroom, have truly set a standard of excellence that inspires us all. The support and commitment demonstrated by every member of our community continue to make Brigidine an extraordinary place to learn and grow.

NAPLAN testing has shown promising progress across Years 7 and 9, highlighting our students' dedication and commitment to their academic journey. Your ongoing support throughout this process has been invaluable and deeply appreciated.

Let's take a moment to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Public Speaking representatives who dazzled at the Catholic Schools Public Speaking Grand Final! Anais Motreff, Aishani Shekhar, and Zari Boyd showcased not only their intellect but also their eloquence and confidence, bringing pride to our college. Congratulations to Zari Boyd for securing third place in Year 9, and to Anais Motreff for claiming the top spot in Year 7. What an incredible accomplishment!

Our recent St. Patrick’s Day celebrations were a true testament to the vibrant spirit of our community. It was a joy to see our girls enthusiastically participate in the festivities, embracing our Irish heritage with gusto.

Let's take a moment to honour and applaud our Year 12 students for their remarkable achievement in completing their first Assessment block. Their dedication, positivity, and determination throughout this crucial period deserve our utmost recognition and praise. It sets a shining example for the entire Brigidine community and underscores the importance of perseverance and hard work in achieving academic success. Congratulations to our Year 12 students!

Harmony Week was a profound learning experience for our students, fostering cultural understanding and appreciation. Under the guidance of Des Marsh from Nyumbar Aboriginal Education, our students had the privilege of immersing themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Aboriginal dances. Natalie Harkins' dedication to promoting Indigenous perspectives has been instrumental in making this transformative experience possible.

In exciting news beyond the classroom, our students have showcased their talents in the short film "Ocean is She," which addresses important issues such as social media, mental health, and marine protection. Should you wish to partake in the premier screening of “Ocean is She” please find details on the following Eventbrite link. Your support for our students is greatly appreciated.

Looking ahead, mark your calendars for Friday, May 10th, as we eagerly anticipate our annual Mother's Day Mass and Breakfast. It's a time-honoured tradition where we come together to recognise and celebrate the invaluable contributions of our mothers and grandmothers to our community. Join us as we gather to express our heartfelt appreciation for their steadfast support and love.

As we prepare to embark on a well-deserved break, we eagerly anticipate the return of everyone to the college on Tuesday, April 30th. Enjoy this time to recharge and rejuvenate, knowing that we look forward to having you back with us. And as we gear up for Term 2, let's make sure all students are ready with their winter uniforms, conveniently available at our uniform shop.

In conclusion, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to the entire Brigidine community for your continued support and dedication. Together, we have achieved so much, and I look forward to the continued success and growth that lies ahead.

Warm regards,

Sharyn Quirk
