Year 10 Science Biology/Psychology

This term, students studying the Year 10 Science elective Biology/Psychology have been exploring the structure and function of multicellular organisms, with a particular focus on how the nervous and endocrine systems coordinate and regulate the body.
To deepen their understanding, students have undertaken rat and brain dissections, identifying a range of organs and body systems and examining brain structures. These practical activities have provided students with valuable opportunities to connect their theoretical learning to real biological structures.
Throughout the dissections, students have also developed their understanding of laboratory safety, risk management and ethical considerations when working with biological specimens.
