VCE Art Making & Exhibiting Product Design Excursion

On Thursday, 3rd of September, the Year 11 Product Design and Year 11/12 Art classes took a trip to Melbourne to visit the Cartier jewelry exhibit at the National Gallery of Victoria. There, they had the opportunity to see all kinds of different products made by Cartier and learn about the origins of the brand, their influences, and their processes of creating their products. They chose one cultural product to write about, which ties in to the products they are creating in class. The day continued with both classes heading over to the Ian Potter Gallery at Federation Square. The Product Design class visited the Plant Life exhibit to look at how natural materials can be used to make sustainable products, in order to try and reduce the waste being put into the environment. Whilst the Art Making and Exhibiting class visited a contemporary indigenous exhibition - Future Country, in preparation for their upcoming exams. Both classes gained valuable information and insight to support them with their current studies and it was an enjoyable day out for everyone who went.
