Years 4 - 6 Term 4 Thursday Track Club

Kambala will again be offering Thursday Track Club to Years 4-6  in Term 4 2026.  

Thursday Track Club  sessions are aimed at  girls who want to increase their speed for sport and participate in sprint events. There will  be a focus on developing the girls relay skills, starts etc.  

The Track Club Squad  will train at ES Marks 4-5.15pm and will be bused to and from the venue. Parents may collect their daughters from ES Marks at 5.15pm if they prefer or can be picked up from Kambala at 5:45pm.

 

Please complete the google form here by Friday 25 September so appropriate transportation can be booked.

Preparation Sports Morning - Kambala Tennis Courts - Wednesday 14 October 2026 - 9.15-10.00am

Please note, in the event of inclement weather we will inform our Preparation families by 7.15am on Wednesday 14 October with an anticipated wet weather back up date of Thursday 15 October 2026.

Incursion - Hot Potato Band - Preparation - Year 6 - Tuesday 20 October 2026

Get ready for an unforgettable day of music and fun! On Tuesday 20 October, the Hot Potato Band will be visiting our school for a special live performance.

 

All students from Prep to Year 6 will attend an interactive concert designed to get everyone moving, dancing, and experiencing live music in a whole new way. Known for their infectious beats, lively crowd involvement, and positive energy, the band will lead students through an engaging musical journey that shows just how exciting acoustic brass music can be.

Kindergarten Excursion – Nielsen Park - Wednesday 21 October 2026

Kindergarten students have been studying ‘People Live in Places’ as part of their Term 3 Geography unit of work. On Wednesday 21 October, students will take part in an excursion to Nielsen Park. 

 

They will interact with their classmates in a variety of engaging activities focusing on sustainability where they’ll learn to take care of the places that they live in and belong to. Using geographical tools (such as identification charts to classify bugs), students discover the importance and varying connections of special places for different people and animals and explore the characteristics, needs and uses of living things.

 

Parents have been forwarded all information including uniform requirements and a permission slip.

Year 1 Excursion - Australian Museum - Wednesday 21 October 2026

Year 1 will travel back in time on an exciting excursion to the Australian Museum on Wednesday 21 October 2026.  

 

Students will explore the fascinating world of dinosaurs, examine real fossils and discover clues about prehistoric life. They will investigate dinosaur features, including feathers, teeth and claws, and learn how scientists use fossils to uncover the secrets of animals from the past. They will partake in hands-on learning experiences and use their critical and problem-solving skills.

 

A permission form will be sent to parents in the coming days.

Year 2 Excursion - Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney - Monday 26 October 2026

Year 2 students are heading to the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney on Monday 26 October 2026 for the hands-on Get Growing program. 

 

This exciting science excursion lets students explore plant life cycles up close by examining different plant structures and discovering how they grow. It will consolidate our Science unit on plant life cycles. Our young gardeners will be involved with planting seeds and craft their own take-home seed balls. Stay tuned for green-thumb stories when we return!

 A permission form will be sent to parents this afternoon. 

Creative Writing Workshop  - Years 2, 4, 6 - Wednesday 28 October 2026

We are thrilled to announce that in term 4, Years 2, 4 and 6 will participate in a Creative Writing Workshop led by award-winning, internationally published Australian children's author Deborah Abela. A former teacher and television writer/producer, Deborah has written over 30 books for young readers. Her stories seamlessly blend humour, high-stakes adventure, resilience, and heart, exploring key themes like climate change, friendship, bravery, and empathy.

 

In alignment with our commitment to academic excellence, this workshop provides hands-on mentorship designed to inspire, challenge and boost our students' writing confidence. Through interactive activities, Deborah will guide students to develop unique ideas, construct story outlines, and craft captivating characters and plots that readers will love.

Year 6 Camp Somerset - Tuesday 3 - Friday 6 November 2026

We are delighted to announce the Year 6 Somerset Camp is taking place from Tuesday 3 - Friday 6  November, 2026.

 

Somerset Outdoor Learning Centre, Colo has been offering Outdoor Programs to school students since the early 1980's. As an industry leader with over 35 years of expertise, Somerset offers a unique blend of learning experiences, outdoor facilities and activities delivered in a professionally managed Outdoor Education Program.

 

Information for parents, permission, dietary and medical forms as well as equipment lists were sent to parents earlier this week in time for the Spring break to ensure families have ample time to organise their campers!

 

Please ensure you have received the "Slip from Kambala - Year 6 Camp Somerset" to grant permission and complete all necessary documentation for the camp provider.
