YEAR 9 KEY INFORMATION: WEEK 3

VPG Work Experience 2026

On Tuesday of Week 2, our Year 9 students were introduced to the VPG Work Experience Program, which will support them in preparing for placements in Term 1, Year 10. Students received an overview of the program and were provided with application forms to begin the process.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the many parents who attended the information session on Wednesday evening. Should you have any further questions, please contact Mrs Earl for assistance.

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

As part of our Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program, students will participate in sessions focused on resume writing and interview skills during Week 3. These sessions are designed to equip students with practical tools for future opportunities. In Week 4, students will finalise their resumes and engage in interview practice. Formal interviews will be conducted in Week 5.

Vocational Learning in Action

The Trade Training Centre sent out a Parent Slip to offer interested Year 9 students the opportunity to see vocational learning in action. The opportunity will take place on Thursday, 23 October (Week 3) and Thursday, 30 October (Week 4) from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.

To participate, students will need parental permission to remain at school during this time. Students will participate in small groups and attend the Library whilst waiting for their allocated time slots. Please let us know by Monday so we can organise the groups.

Junior Leader Positions for 2026

We would also like to acknowledge and thank the students who have submitted applications for the Junior Leader positions for 2026. Interviews will be scheduled during Week 4, and applicants will be notified of their interview times throughout the week.

Securing Personal Property at the College

This week, students have been reminded of the importance of securing their personal belongings throughout the school day. We ask for your support in reinforcing this message at home.

Students are expected to store items such as mobile devices, laptops, textbooks, and other personal possessions safely in their locked lockers during the day.

For those who ride to school, it is essential that bikes and e-scooters are secured with a lock to the racks provided in the bike shed. This helps ensure the safety of their property and supports a respectful and responsible school environment.

We appreciate your partnership in helping students take care of their belongings and maintain a safe and orderly college community.
