Number
Learning will continue to occur through hands-on activities to further develop and consolidate their understanding of mathematical concepts. They will be involved in learning to problem solve using addition and subtraction through activities and games. Students will be learning to match numerals and collections using place value. They will be involved in understanding our base 10 system making numbers by bundling groups of 10 objects and using tens and ones to record and count higher numbers.
Algebra
Students will be exploring skip counting by 2's 5's and 10's.
Measurement
Students will learn to sort, compare and measure the mass and capacity of objects and estimate, measure and compare the length of different materials using informal units.
Statistics
Students will be continuing to collect data and record information using tally marks. They will create simple graphs, such as picture graphs and develop skills in interpreting and analysing the data by answering questions about their graphs.
