From the Principal Team

Dear Viewbank Community,
Term 4 has begun with a vibrant sense of anticipation and celebration as we reflect on the year that’s been.
Our Year 12 students have embraced their final week of scheduled classes with themed activities each day. The creativity and good humour on display—through inventive backpacks, accessories, and costumes—have brought a wonderful energy to the school. Led by the senior house leadership team, the atmosphere has been buzzing. We extend our thanks to all students and staff for their dedication and support throughout the year.
As students enter the pre-exam study period, we encourage them to invest time and effort into their preparation, while also prioritising wellbeing. Connect with peers, seek feedback from teachers, simulate exam conditions, and remember to include exercise and rest in your routine.
Tonight, we celebrate the Class of 2025 at our Valedictory Dinner—a special evening of reflection and recognition. Earlier this week, the Unit 4 Awards Ceremony was held, with many families in attendance. It was a joy to acknowledge the achievements of our students, and we commend the student leadership team for their outstanding organisation and leadership of the event.
Meanwhile, our Year 10 and 11 students have returned to school and are completing mastery classwork and activities in preparation for exams. Though Term 4 often feels fleeting, we are confident that their efforts will lead to a strong finish. All students will take part in O Week and VCE 2026 preparation from November 24 to December 2.
We are pleased to welcome Dean Moss to the Principal team for this term. He is working closely with the Middle School team and has quickly become a familiar and valued presence among students and staff. Middle School students have a rich and exciting term ahead, including Banyule Flats discoveries, Banyule Nillumbik Tech School programs, LEAD/City Week, 2026 sports days, mastery learning activities, and a whole-year-level end-of-year excursion.
There is much to look forward to as we round out the year together.
