Assistant Principals' Report

Hello everyone and welcome to our newsletter article,
Welcome back and hope that you all had a great holiday.
Mental Health Month 1st - 30th October
The health and wellbeing of all in our community is so important. As it is Mental Health Month 1st - 30th October in Victoria during October, we place a ‘spotlight’ on health and wellbeing for all in the HPS community. Today, Friday 10th October is the World Mental Health Day. This year, the focus is connecting with your community, at HPS we do this so well and would like to remind everyone of the importance of checking in on each other.

(excerpt from website above)This year, Mental Health Australia’s theme for World Mental Health Day is Connect with your community.
Connecting with our communities – the people and places where we feel safe, seen and heard – can help us feel cared for and supported, which is good for our mental health.
A community can take any shape. Community can mean:
- friends, loved ones, your mob
- multicultural centre
- community choir
- community garden
- book club
- running group
- local volunteer group
LGBTQIA+ group
At home, work, school, in the community or online, on 10 October, Mental Health Australia encourages everyone to have conversations about mental health, reduce stigma, reach out for support – and connect with our communities. There are some great resources in the link below.
Have a great weekend.
