Grade 4 Busking for Change
Grade 4 Busking for Change
Congratulations to our Grade 4 students and the CHPS community for raising $1,100for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation through our participation in Busking for Change.
What is Busking for Change?
It is a joyful multi-literacy activity incorporating song, music, movement and language. Simply put, schools learn a song and raise funds for the ILF.
Here's how it works:
- Students commit to learning to play, sing, or dance to a song
- Students gather support/donations from their friends and family
- Once students master the song, they ‘busk’ or perform their rendition collectively or individually to their friends, family, school, or post a video online.
The 2023 song was Words Make the World Go Around in Kriol, an Indigenous Language spoken in parts of the Northern Territory.
Where did Grade 4 Perform?
4VG performed at Kids on Queens Parade Child Care Centre and outside of Cavallini
4KB performed outside of Cavallini
4MR performed at the Gold Street Child Care Centre and the Keele Street Childcare Centre
4DC performed at the Brotherhood Aged Care Facility, over the road from CHPS
All four Grade 4 classes sang together at our special assembly on the 6th of September.
We had a wonderful day, singing in the community and raising money for an excellent cause.
And thank you to Cavallini for allowing us to perform to their customers and for providing our students with cup cakes!
